Alderman Acres Mfg, Inc., located at 623 Union Street in a 7,000 foot building, is a family owned manufacturer and supplier of what are referred to as "window dressings".

The manufactured on-side products include draperies, valances, swags, cornice boards, privacy curtains for hospitals, nursing homes and other types of health care facilities, along with bedspreads and pillow shams.  Alderman Acres also can supply mattresses, box springs, blinds of all types, furniture and lamps.  The lines of products are used in the hospitality industry (hotels, motels, bed & breakfast facilities) as well as the healthcare industry.  A reupholstery department has also been added, including window dressing for local residential customers.

The Alderman family includes Don and Jo Alderman, owners; Tom Alderman, vice president of manufacturing; Howard Alderman, vice president of sales and marketing; and Patti Neal, comptroller.  Jo Alderman has over 28 years experience in the industry and, altogether, the Alderman team has a combined experience totaling 75 years.

Although Alderman Acres has concentrated on the four-state area, it is servicing more and more customers throughout the entire United States. Marketing includes direct sales contacts, mailings of brochures and samples, along with a website information page soon to be on the Internet.  Sales increases have also been healthy as a result of "word of mouth" advertising via satisfied customers who have valued the "after the sale" follow-up and support. Quality, integrity and service are demands Jo Alderman puts on herself and her employees.

In order to answer incoming inquiries and better cover customer bases, Alderman Acres has added another full-time sales representative, with plans to hire another one, as well as two new plant employees.  At present the company has 10 employees.

The addition of a full-time secretary/computer person has added to overall efficiency, but the aggressive approach that Tom, in purchasing, and Howard, in sales, have taken with respect to their position, along with Jo's projects and the new sales representative, have not allowed for any noticeable decrease in activity.

Even though Alderman Acres currently services a customer base numbering 250, no one is ready to sit back and relax. Says Jo Alderman, "When people think of our industry and products, we want them to think Alderman Acres and Coffeyville simultaneously."
